Free Mental Health Counseling

You can receive free mental health whether you are Tiger Woods or a homeless person. Why could that be? The government has thousands of programs for everyone that include free mental health. You can be rich or poor. The programs do not discriminate against who gets the free mental health. In order to find this in the community where you desire to receive free mental health counseling, just go to this site under clinic directory and put in the city where you desire the service. The clinics do not advertise that they are free mental health counseling, you will have to call the sites. The listings have many funding sources which are through the federal, state, or local government. The programs generally have to offer a certain amount of free mental health  counseling slots in order to receive the funding. The free mental health site has most of the programs that  are government supported throughout the United States.

I already have seen a therapist and cannot continue to see him because I don’t have health insurance and cannot afford the depression meds he has prescribed for me. He does hand out samples. I have been on my last package of samples and the therapist will not give me any more samples until I go see him. I cannot afford this….I am getting crankier by the day, doling out only one pill for approximately every 4 or 5 days. Is there some way you can help me? Thank You.

  2. webadmin Says:

Dear Carole, go to the clinic directory to the left of this site. Put in the city where you want the service. It will give you a list of clinics that take government support money. You can then call serveral of the clinics that sound right for you. It sounds like you are using a psychiatrist that hands out meds. A clinic can handle the whole process. Good luck!

this site says free help but is there such a thing i clicked on the left for phoenix az and only got pay sites also it keeps sending me to depression tests thats not wat i need i already know im depressed i just need to know how do i get back on my meds 623/205/7334 help

  4. webadmin Says:

Some of of the sites may look like pay sites but these clinics are selected that have some government funding. Try again.

I’ve contacted every name on the list in my town. So far only 2 out of 12 are willing to accept someone without insurance. When I confronted the ones who would not accept free clients, they said that they are member of no program that requires this. I told them their name/address was published in a list that states it and they wanted to know where I found it so they could get it corrected.

The two that do accept free clients only do so when you are under a voluntary commitment of at least 5 days. They will not give refills without another commitment either.

So basically, if you’re in central MO and not a child there is no help for you.

  6. webadmin Says:

The fact is that Mike found 2 programs that do offer help for free. Not all programs offer totally free help. Most programs listed get government funding and do offer free mental health. Some offer sliding scale.

I am confused….exactly where do I go to find out participating doctors in my area? I think I am doing something wrong!

  9. Dave Says:

I called every “Clinic” (16 of them) and there was not one that that even knew about these programs! I even directed a few to this web site and they said they do not participate and do not know why they are listed. So this information needs to be reviewed before you give people hope. This only leads to a longday on the phone with multiple rejections and having to explain to them. Now that makes the depression worse! THANKS

I looked at your directory and nothing for adult treatment. i called 211 and spent about 3 hours on the phone trying to find help. my problem is that ‘family income’ for sliding scale is up there but MY income isn’t. I’m trying to get out of a relationship that i KNOW he’s cheating on me and i’ve been unemployed for over a year, and i have no family to help me.

i’ll be reaching rock bottom very soon if i don’t get help…i just know it.

Hello, I have taken the depression test thru the link on this site. I scored a 70 and this is the info i was given: “If you are having any thoughts of suicide, please call us; we can help: (888) 425-5227. If you have an emergency, call 911″. When i dial that 888 number i get a recording to call a party line to meet with fun people in my area.. Can someone please check that this is the correct information. I know I need help and the hardest part is for me to ask for it… this isnt making it any easier…

  27. webadmin Says:

Pjh, Please and try the internet first by finding out who is in your area. Some counties have 211 numbers. If you want someone from this company to call you back, please call 818 881-5198. Every county has free intervention services. Please try again and go to the clinic directory on this site.
